What I like but also don't get is why Shimura has Oga Samurai with him; I know they're the Shogun's elite squad and he's the _Jito_ (so basically the Shogun's second in command), but he and Lord Oga are from completely different Clans. Only real answer I can think of is that Clan Shimura had very few survivors (aside from the two Samurai with Shimura when you help the pirates deliver the message to the Shogun for backup), so he had to get Clan Oga to come in as replacements or substitutes. I also never noticed that it was Lord Oga himself who arrested Jin; always thought it was just a random dude till I played the level again and saw the cutscene about five million times when I finally saw the white on his armor

Looking back at this after finishing Ragnarök myself, the gap between Kratos and Atreus in terms of grief is astounding. I'm not being pessimistic, but it's two different minds - one who has grieved all his life and never sought atonement or counsel in his early days, and another who has been betrayed utterly, breaking both his spirit and his will. Kratos comes with a lifetime of pain and suffering. His guilt in killing Lysandra and Calliope drove him mad. He thought vengeance was the only way to close his grief. Instead, it had left him empty and chose to give his life and the hope he harbored so that Greece would rebuild itself. After traveling to the Norse realm, meeting Faye and bringing Atreus into the world, he had to go through a new stage of grief. He had never lost someone so fully and not by his own hands, which took him years to process. And after venturing through majority of the Realms, Kratos had come to terms with her passing, yet the memories of their time together remained vivid in his mind. Atreus never understood why Kratos was upset, nor did he know how to take a death. He grew arrogant, impulsive and made senile remarks that would have earned him a stern talking-to. Instead of discipline his son with force, Kratos chose to speak his experience and show what it meant for Atreus to be a warrior. He let his conscience guide his actions, and it made Atreus into the focused boy that he was. From giving him lessons about archery, waiting for signals, earning his knife and clearing the hubris that he had gained from his wisdom being a god, he was training Atreus to be not like him, who saw killing as satiety, but to be better, that killing those who have committed wrong were to be felled. After growing up, Atreus had mastered majority of his training, yet failed to grasp the discipline Kratos had been trying to teach him. His curious mind was what dragged him into a mess that would have likely became the death of Kratos but instead turned to their advantage. Despite not trusting him at first, he knew Atreus' instincts had never been wrong and so he chose to take his faith into account. Upon reflection, Atreus had everything he was ready for - friends to rely on, a purpose in mind and the counsel of his father. For the first time, Kratos had, finally, a child who could turn any situation, however dire, into their favor. But the faith he had in Tyr had cost him a blacksmith and a friend, which shook him so intensely he had to distract himself. Kratos knew the grief Atreus was experiencing as he himself had done so before. Instead of sulking in misery over the loss of a friend, he calmly reminded Atreus that all was not lost, that a distraction would only make the pain worse, not heal it. The words of Kratos were exactly what Atreus needed - about how animals tend to their wounds after damaged, how actions have consequences that needn't be reminded, and how losing your direction in a sea of misery can drown you in its depths. He reminded his son to stay focused in the most loving way a parent could - to make himself a place that his boat could sail to. And because Atreus chose to listen, they averted the prophecy that awaited Kratos, changed his fate and allowed him a better future. Kratos had fulfilled his purpose of being a father and was ready for his son to journey on his own - the mind of a warrior emblazoned on his conscience, with the will of a Jötun who would not succumb to fate and write his own path.
